LS&I notes from Mike Ellis
RS-1 20 and 21 letter dated August 24, 1965, Engine D-20 has been equipped with M.U. Control to M.U. with engine D-21 only. The new reverser has only 2 positions - forward and reverse, so it was necessary to install another switch to be able to return the transition from Series Parallel position back to Series position when speed is reduced due to trailing load. Transfer back to Series must be made manually by reducing to 1/4 the throttle opening, and change the switch from Parallel to Series. This switch located on bottom of Engineer's control panel. Engines used from the Timebooks of Ralph Matthies from May 1946 to 1983
