ALL ENGINEMEN:

GP-35 locomotives have been modified so that the series contractors are closed to correspond with the position of the reverser.

If the reverser is moved to the opposite direction, before the engine comes to a complete stop, the traction motors act as generators and supply current which will burn the reverser contact tips.

On GP-35 locomotives the reverser level must not be moved to change direction of movement, under no circumstance, until the locomotive comes to a complete stop.
