Toledo, Saginaw and Muskegon Equipment
From August to December 1887 the TS&M received five new locomotives from Rogers. Here is the roster:
#1 4-4-0 "Geo. A. Evans" built 8-19-1887
#2 4-4-0 "W. V. McCracken" built 8-20-1887
Both of these engines were equipped with "automatic brakes" for passenger service.
#10 4-4-0 "Neil MacDonald" built 10-10-1887
#11 4-4-0 "David Robinson Jr." built 11-15-1887
#12 4-4-0 "Wm. Baker" built 12-10-1887 these five locomotives were augmented by a used locomotive (#13?). Built by Brooks in 1880, also a 4-4-0
Before the TS&M was taken over by the Grand Trunk in August of 1888, they received 55 gondola's, 50 flatcars, 200 boxcars (built by Catasaqua Co. in 1887), two caboose (with passenger accommodations), and six passenger cars (built by Jackson & Sharpe Co. in 1888) with automatic brakes.
I have been doing some research on the engines the GTW used from the early 1930's until the end of steam on the Turkey Trail. From photos and other resources I have compiled this list.In 1926, they only owned 2 passenger cars and 4 service cars.
This is one of the two passenger caboose's the TS&M owned. The photo was taken before 1916
Here is westbound mixed train 41 passing through Butternut with combine 7365. In the Spring of '56 the combine was retired.
