A Visit To The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame & Museum is located in Downtown Cleveland on the beautiful Lakefront. It's conveniently situated next to Cleveland Browns Stadium along with the Great Lakes Science Center. The Cleveland Amtrak Station as well as a local RTA train station are a short walk from the museum as well and there is ample nearby parking if you plan to drive here. The hall prohibits photography inside the actual museum however they do permit photography in the lobby area outside of the museum. The photos you see here were taken outside or in the lobby area.
Located at 1100 Rock And Roll Blvd is the main hall by the Cleveland Browns Stadium.
The main entrance to the hall.
This Ohio Historical Marker is located just outside the hall.
2009 would mark the sudden death of superstar Michael Jackson. This white glove and guitar is a
celebration of an incredible career spanning 5 decades!
More guitars on display in the main lobby including those dedicated to
John Lennon and George Harrison of the Beatles.
"The Life And Music Of Bruce Springsteen", the main exhibit at the hall.
If you are a fan of The Boss, you need to see this!
That would be cool to perform on, though I'm a DJ, not a musician so for me, that's not the right venue!
Cars hanging from the ceiling, that's cool!
Interesting plane hanging from the ceiling!
That's one big hot dog!!!
Jon Bon Jovi's 1988 Harley-Davidson Softtail Motorcycle.
Janice Joplin's 1965 Porsche Cabriolet 356c.
1933 Ford Eliminator Coupe, it was owned by Bill Gibbons, guitarist for ZZ Top!
Roy Orbison's 1967 Corvette.
Finally, Billy Joel's 1977 Harley-Davidson XLCR Cafe-Racer Motorcycle. Billy Joel is one of my favorite musicians!
This was my third visit to the hall, and my first since October 2002. After spending the afternoon there, I drove back to Sandusky and watched my Buffalo Bills lose to the New Orleans Saints 27-7, oh well, the Cleveland Browns weren't having a good year either! I did laundry at the hotel which I planned to do. I have no issue doing this "household chore" when on vacation as it allows me to not have to pack heavily. I drove over to a nearby Chili's restaurant and picked up dinner to have in the hotel room (those Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers may be may not be health food but they are THE BEST!!!) and watched the movie "Goodfellas". Eventually, I decided I no longer needed the rental car so I drove back to Enterprise and dropped off the car and dropped the keys in the safe. I then picked up a taxi to get back to the hotel. Once I got back to the hotel, I walked over to a nearby Speedway gas station and lost $10.00 playing some scratch-off lotto tickets, oh well! I watched some Sunday Night Football on NBC and would attempt to get a minimal amount of sleep as my taxi was scheduled for 2:30am Monday morning. The sleep I attempted to get however would essentially not happen. And so ends today. It's now time to catch a train to Chicago, check out the link below...
