The next morning, we're now in San Bernardino, CA.

Now arriving at Riverside, CA. Amtrak uses the Metrolink Station at Riverside.
 
The Riverside Station is known as the Joseph Tavaglione Riverisde Downtown Station.
 
Former GO Transit (Toronto's Commuter Rail System) EMD F59PH #81522 now works hauling Metrolink Commuter Trains.
 
Now THAT is a really interesting way to hide a cell phone tower!!!

Now going past the Redondo Roundhouse area, we see Former Milwaukee Road Private Car "Montana" along with Amtrak EMD SW1000R #795 Switcher.
 
Hiding underneath that tarp is none other than Santa Fe 4-8-4 Steamer #3751 which is based here.
 
Now passing Amtrak's 8th Street Yard & Shops. Here we have GE P32-8BWH #507 at the shops in front of a couple EMD F59PHI's.
 
A couple EMD F59PHI's which are used on the Pacific Surfliner trains along with a P42 at the shops.
 
Amtrak EMD F40PH NPCU (Non-Powered Control Unit) #90208. This unit started its career numbered 208.

Amtrak Train #1 - The Sunset Limited awaiting its turn to enter 8th Street Yard for servicing and turning to eventually go back to New Orleans as Train #2.
 
Original California Zephyr Dome Car "Silver Lariat" which is based in Los Angeles and is available for charters! I need to ride in that car someday!
 
GE P42DC #163 was spotted in the yard sporting an incorrect font used for its number, this unit lead the Coast Starlight that arrived the previous night.
 
Amtrak Pacific Parlour Car #39973 "Santa Lucia Highlands" which runs on the Coast Starlight. This series of cars are only on this train and is a lounge car
for Sleeping Car passengers only. It features swivel chairs, dining tables and a theater along with a small library. I wish more trains had a car like this!

Parked on Track #12, we get one final look at the Southwest Chief next to a Metrolink Commuter Train. A piece of that tumbleweed still found it's
way to Los Angeles! This was one excellent ride across our beautiful country, one I'll never forget!!!
 
The train is now being worked on so it is "blue-flagged" which is what the blue sign that says "Stop" on it is for.
And being parked behind the bumper at the end of the track, yes, this train is at the "End Of Block"!
 
This Pacific Surfliner train had GE P42DC #184 for power which is painted up in Amtrak's Phase IV paint scheme from its 40th Anniversary back in 2011.
 
GE P42DC #192 leads Train #14 - The Coast Starlight which will depart a little later this morning for Seattle. This train pulled into the station
shortly after the Southwest Chief arrived. And after this amazing cross-country journey, I have another space shuttle to visit!!!
