Pacific Surfliner Train #799 arriving in San Luis Obispo. This was the only Surfliner train operating with single-level equipment. This train terminated in San Luis Obispo and would go back south again as Train #798.

A wide shot of the same train as above, seen with some Union Pacific power that is used for
pushing trains over the Cuesta grade just north of here.

Just a short walk from the Amtrak Station, you'll see this display which is in front of the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum.

Former Southern Pacific Caboose on display at the museum.
This small station building has an Amtrak sign on it but I'm not sure what its used for as it's fenced off.
Now back to the Amtrak trains!!! Here's Train #14, the northbound Coast Starlight having just arrived in San Luis Obispo.
And arriving just after #14 is #11, the southbound Coast Starlight!!!
I traveled 3000 miles on Amtrak to see this!!! We have a meet of Coast Starlights and here's the proof!!!
Another meet of the Coast Starlights, #14 on the left and #11's lead unit, P42 #141 to the right.
They actually unloaded #11's passengers through #14's doors so they could get to the station!
This display of the Iron Road Pioneers is located near the tracks in the Historic Railroad District.
This plaque is on display in front of the Iron Road Pioneers display.
LEFT: Several of these signs are located in the area around the station.
