Former Baggage Car for the Santa Fe Railway. Conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and numbered 1056. Converted from Steam Heat to HEP in February 1978 and renumbered 1231. This was actually the second car to wear this number as another Baggage Car built by ACF for the New York Central and later Penn Central had the number 1231 until March 1977 when it was renumbered and re-assigned for work train service.
