Napa Valley Wine Train Photo Tour: City Of Napa

A view of the end of the Wine Train at Napa Station before departure for the first train of the day.

The train as viewed from Soscol Avenue just before departure.

Standing next to the Wine Train's two FPA-4's that will pull today's train (the Wine Train actually owns four FPA-4's,
one of which runs on Clean Natural Gas) and transport me to Saint Helena in the cab!

A view of the train just before departing Napa.

Now departing Napa Station, we're about to cross Soscol Avenue.

Soscol Avenue is one very busy street, thus it's a very well protected crossing!

The train's two FPA-4's having just crossed Soscol Avenue.

That sign says "Life's A Journey Don't Miss The Train", so true!!!

I'm so glad a part of my life's journey has been spent here in Napa Valley! Here we have the beautiful
Vista Dome Car #1085 - Champagne in Napa having just crossed Soscol Avenue.

One siding ends, another one starts! Now passing by the Napa Valley Ice Building on the left and
riding alongside the Napa Commuter Bike Path on the right. I need to go bike riding here someday!

Now crossing Lincoln Avenue. What you'll see here are only a portion of the many crossings in Napa.

Riding along more of the Napa Commuter Bike Path.

Now approaching California Boulevard and the California Route 29 overpass. We will get to know Route 29 very well
coming up as we will parallel it all the way to Saint Helena once we cross over it!

Crossing over Route 29, which is a freeway here but becomes a divided highway with intersections just north of here.

Approaching Redwood Road crossing.

A Park & Ride located at Solano Avenue and Redwood Road which is operated by local transit bus company VINE Transit.

One of the many pieces of rolling stock along the route that are used as billboards advertising the Wine Train!

Approaching Trower Avenue. Route 29 now follows alongside us on the right.

Crossing a small creek north of Trower Avenue.

Rounding a bend and approaching Salvador Avenue.

Coming into the Oak Knoll District, still in Napa, but starting to see vineyards as we're out of the city now.

Now THIS is Napa Valley!!! The sign in front of that vineyard indicates we're entering the Oak Knoll District.

I thought these trees looked cool on each side of the railroad! The road now on the left side of the railroad is Solano Avenue.

Now approaching Oak Knoll Avenue.

The Laird Family Estate in Napa.

Crossing another small creek and approaching Washington Street.

More neat looking trees!!!

Rounding a bend and heading into Yountville.
