Amtrak's Exhibit Train Display Car #10095 Photo Tour

Now onto the third of the three display cars, we see a display about Amtrak's recycling efforts.

Amtrak's new electric locomotives that are in use on the Northeast Corridor, known as the Amtrak Cities Sprinter or ACS-64. These locomotives were built by
Siemens at their facility in Sacramento, CA and replaced the AEM-7's that ran on the corridor for many years.

Signage about different Amtrak routes and information.

Amtrak route posters and stories of how the trains got their names!

The big deal in this car would be this prototype Viewliner II Roomette that was on display! 25 Viewliner II Sleeping Cars are being manufactured by CAF USA in
Elmira Heights, NY for use on eastern long-distance trains and here you get to see what one of the roomette accommodations will look like.

The Viewliner II Roomette like the Viewliner I as well as Superliner Roomettes, will be designed for two passengers and feature two seats that fold down into a bed
at night and a second bunk that is brought down from the ceiling. The room will feature an in-room sink that folds out from the wall as well.

The other seat in the Viewliner II Roomette. There is a table that folds down in the center of the car so you can set up your laptop or enjoy a beer and pizza!

A view with both seats set up for riding during the day. This type of accommodation itself is not a new concept but these will be the first new sleeping cars
on Amtrak since the Viewliner I sleepers which entered service in the mid-1990's.

Onboard amenities on display here including electronic ticketing, information about WiFi internet access as well as a program I've been a member
of for many years, Amtrak Guest Rewards!

A display about Amtrak Vacations and Amtrak's work with the National Park Service.

Some information about the Acela Express service on the Northeast Corridor.

Some information about High-Speed Rail in California and the Mid-West.

And of course, an HO scale model of the Acela Express. Let's go spend serious amounts of cash on souvenirs now!
