Being at Cedar Point for the CP&LE's 50th Anniversary as well as being at the park for my annual fall trip allowed me to do something I've gotten a lot of practice doing over the years with running this web site, and that of course, would be railfanning!!! Included on this page are some scenic photos taken from various locations within the park of this wonderful steam-powered railroad! Special note that these photos were taken throughout the day of different trains and are sorted here in order of where I photographed them along the route. Photos taken during my fall visit are denoted with the word "NEW" in the caption. Enjoy... |

CP&LE #22 - Myron H. poses next to the railroad's big water tower near the Funway Station. |
NEW: Rounding the bend just outside Frontiertown Station. |
NEW: Now arriving at Frontiertown! |
Taking a break at Frontiertown is CP&LE #44 - Judy K. This train is headed back to Funway Station momentarily. |
Now departing Frontier Town Station crossing the access way to the Mean Streak coaster. |
NEW: Train traffic at Cedar Point!!! |
Now crossing the access road to Shoot The Rapids, the CP&LE transports a group of passengers back to the Funway Station. |
Another view a bit further up the tracks from "Shoot The Rapids". The ride structure in the background is part of a ride that will
leave you completely drenched, that would be the 1993-built "Snake River Falls" flume ride!
This area near Shoot The Rapids is actually next to Boneville which you got the grand tour of previously! Here's another view
of the great track gang who is supposed to be installing that siding, and have been working on it for years!!!

Rounding a bend near Mantis, we have CP&LE #22. |
Low-Speed Rail meet MUCH HIGHER speed rail with the Mantis coaster in the background! |
From the same location as above, near Mantis, here's CP&LE #44. |
Here we see the train rounding the final bend before arriving at the Funway Station. |
Though not on the route of the CP&LE, this small station platform labeled "Cedar Junction" is home to CP&LE #3 - Albert
which operated it's last season on the CP&LE in 1991 and has been on display here since 2000.
Another view of Albert, a 2-6-0 steamer built by the Davenport Locomotive Works in 1910 on display on the Frontier Trail.
If you walk past this, do stop and get some Dippin' Dots ice cream! Now let's head to the CP&LE's shop for a tour of the
railroad "behind the scenes" and get in some rare views of this great railroad, click below...
