My original plan was to drive from here to Fairport to photograph the westbound Amtrak Train #63 - The Maple Leaf, however after checking the clock and concluding that I wouldn't make it there in time to see the train (or so I thought), I decided to go see the train at the Rochester Amtrak station. Once I arrived there, I found out the train was running late (so maybe I would have been able to see it in Fairport, but by now, I decided I'm staying put for now). I ended up having a nice conversation with a retired Amtrak employee from Philadelphia who was on vacation in the Rochester area. Included here are a few photos taken during my brief visit at Rochester Amtrak... |

The first train at Rochester Amtrak was this eastbound manifest with GE CW44AH #585 on the head end. |

Arriving in Rochester 44 minutes late is Amtrak Train #63 - The Maple Leaf bound for Toronto. Today's train had P42DC #123
for power. This locomotive was the first unit in the second order of P42's (in total, they were numbered 123-207). This train
operates as a Via Rail Canada train using Amtrak's equipment once it crosses into Canada.

The building in the left of the photo is Kodak Park which is part of Kodak's world headquarters which is located in Rochester.
Like millions of photographers all over the world for so many years, I did a lot of business with Kodak by virtue of using their
print and later slide film for train photography before finally going digital in 2008. This would be it for Rochester for now, I'll be
back in Downtown Rochester later at the High Falls, for now, see ya in Fairport!
