Amtrak Viewliner I Inspection Car #10004

Built by Amtrak's Beech Grove Shops with the help of Budd in 1988, this was one of two prototype Viewliner sleeping cars. In November 2001, after a limited overhaul, the car was renumbered 62091 and given the name "Eastern View" and operated for a time, mostly as a crew dorm. In March 2014, the car was converted into a theater car, renumbered 10004 and renamed "American View". This was not however the first Viewliner to have that name as production Viewliner I Sleeper #62000 was delivered with that name.
