North Carolina D.O.T. Coach #400011

Built by St. Louis Car in 1964 as a 45 seat coach for the Union Pacific Railroad and numbered 5532. Conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and numbered 4572. Converted to Head-End Power from Steam Heat in August 1979 and renumbered 4610. Converted to a table car in January 1984 and renumbered 8603. Car was placed up for sale in February 2002 and was eventually purchased by the State of North Carolina and converted into a 56 seat coach with refurbishment of the car being done for NCDOT by the Delaware Car Company. Under NCDOT ownership, the car would be renumbered 400011 and named "Granite".
