North Carolina D.O.T. Coach #400008

Built by St. Louis Car in 1964 as a 45 seat coach for the Union Pacific Railroad and numbered 5531. Conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and numbered 4571. Converted to Head-End Power from Steam Heat in October 1979 and renumbered 4620. Sold in January 1996 to the State of North Carolina and refurbished by the Delaware Car Company. Today the car is configured as a 56 seat coach, numbered 400008 and named "Gray Squirrel".
