This car was originally built in 1948 by Budd for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad. The car was conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and renumbered 8051. Converted from steam heat to HEP in September 1979 and renumbered 8500. Converted to a Griddle Diner in January 1987 and renumbered 8551. In the early 2000's, the car had the full Temoinsa Rebuild nterior consisting of green seating and green and pink walls and ceiling.
