Built by Budd in 1957 for the Northern Pacific and numbered 1296, this car briefly operated under Burlington Northern when it briefly operated passenger trains before being conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and being renumbered 8048. Converted to HEP from steam heat in February 1980 and renumbered 8506. Converted to a Griddle Diner in February 1986 and renumbered to its current number 8550.
