This car was originally built in 1957 by Budd for the Northern Pacific Railway's North Coast Hiawatha and conveyed to Amtrak in 1971. Amtrak renumbered the car 8049 and in March 1980 converted it from Steam Heat to HEP and renumbered it 8507. The car operates today as a Heritage Diner with the full Temoinsa Rebuild interior.
