Built by Budd as 10 Roomette-6 Double Bedroom Sleeping Car for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1950. Numbered 1406 and named "Pacific Cape". Conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and numbered 2604 keeping its original name. . Converted to Head-End Power from Steam Heat in January 1980 and renumbered 2891. Converted to a Crew Dorm/Lounge car in January 1999 and renumbered 2521. Converted to a Company Service Car used by Amtrak's Office Of Inspector General and renamed "Pacific Patrol" in April 2008 and renumbered 10021. Repainted into Phase III and renamed back to "Pacific Cape" (Date Unknown) and used as a Company Service Car. Historical information about this car provided by www.amtrakbythenumbers.com.
