This car was built by Budd for the Santa Fe Railway in 1953 and numbered 3502. Conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and numbered 1022. This would be the first of two baggage cars that would wear the number 1022 on Amtrak. Converted from Steam Heat to HEP in September 1977 and renumbered 1247.
