Built for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad by Pullman-Standard in 1950, the car was originally configured as a 52 seat coach and numbered 1644. Later operated with the Allegheny County Port Authority. Later to the Connecticut Department of Transportation where the car was renumbered 1606, then onto the Adirondack Scenic Railroad where it was also numbered 1606. Acquired by Norfolk Southern in 2010 and overhauled in May 2013, numbered 47 and named "Louisiana".
