Ambroid Wood Craftsman KitsH SeriesThe H-series, Heritage, came in a beige box with red "ribbons" and a picture of a GN caboose (the K-9 kit). Some kits were produced in O scale as well (see the O-series). From the limited samples I have, it seems to be fair to assume that Northeastern made at least the first set of kits in this series and that Ambroid guaranteed that no more than 5,000 of each kit were going to be made. A seal with the text: "Ambroid Models, Inc. Maine, 1960" was embossed in the instruction sheet and the serial number of the kit was written on the seal. It also appears that later models in this series were made by Quality Craft, Northumberland, PA, and did not have the 5,000 guarantee, or the seal. The first three kits do not have any kit numbers on the boxes, and the very first kit, the Southern Pacific Wood Chip Gondola, comes in a very unique Heritage box with the added text "ONE OF 5000" on the front.
