City of Los Angeles, 16th Train, 1950
Time Tables
To give an idea of the time it took the City Of Los Angeles to travel between Chicago and Los Angeles
I have included excerpts from a few time tables in my collection.
I have also included the present day Amtrak Southwest Chief even though it is not a fair comparison.
The Southwest Chief calls only on a very few of the same cities and it travels a different route, but
from the passengers' viewpoint, it is the elapsed time that counts.
