City of Los Angeles, 16th Train, 1950
E6B - Second B-unit
Since the EMD delivery of E8A and B units in 1950 was limited to 5 pairs, there were not enough E8B units
on hand to be able to have to E8B in any train in 1950. Union Pacific used what was on hand at any day, either
an E6B or an E7B.
COLA 16
Since Union Pacific used what was on hand at any day, I can feel free to use what is available in my collection.
In this case it will be an E6B unit, numbered 987C (a number I hope is correct for a 1950 version). The 987C is
the original LA-6, later renumbered to 926B and, in 1948, renumbered twice, first to 987CJ and later the same year
to 987C.

My Model
For this engine I have the OMI E7B/E6B model which I will assign road number 987C. The
model needs some paint adjustments. The ends are gray and should be Yellow/Gray with a
red stripe like the sides. The trucks are aluminum and should be gray. The side
lettering is correct, however.
