City of Los Angeles, 16th Train, 19506-6-4 Sleeper - "American Courier"Pullman Standard was the manufacturer of one of the two groups of the "American" cars in service at UP. The first group (60 cars) was built to plan 4099 in 1941 by Pullman Standard and the second group (4 cars) was built in 1949 by American Car and Foundry. The 1941 cars were rebuilt in 1949. At this time the wash room in the middle of the car on the bedroom side was changed to a linen closet, and the small window in this room was removed. This car is still in use on Union Pacific as Bunk Car #906075. COLA 16The cars in the COLA 16th train were the "American Command" and "American Courier". "American Command" came from the City of Portland (COP) 3rd train and "American Courier" from COLA 16th train of 1947. Available Models1941 Pullman Cars
