This photo is of PRR Baggage Class B-60, No. 9055 in 1991 at the East Freedom siding where the Chapter equipment was stored at the time.  This car and Railway Express Agency car REX 7375 (rear) were purchased at the same time from Conrail, where the units were found in dead storage pending scrapping.  Both units have since been restored.  Photo: David Seidel

This is a former PRR Class B-60 baggage car which the Chapter has restored at Union Tank Car Co. in Altoona. All markings and fonts on the car are traced from the original, with the exception of the NRHX markings. "Railway Express Agency" lettering adorns the central panel above the car number...9055. This car was purchased in the late 1980's by Horseshoe Curve Chapter NRHS as well as REX express boxcar 7375. Earlier, a dropped coupler end was replaced at the Everett RR shops in Claysburg, Pa.

Union Tank Car Co., in Altoona, former Lithcote Corp., a division of Union Tank, occupies the former Pennsylvania Railroad Passenger Car Paint Shop complex at Chestnut avenue and 7th Street. Directly opposite the plant on Chestnut Avenue would have been located the PRR's athletic field complex, Cricket Field, where many inter-divisional sports competitions were held.

Cosmetic work was completed (with the exception of the interior) and it was made road worthy but not Amtrak certified.  This car remained at Union Tank Car Co until Dec 2006 for storage purposes and was utilized by the company to store dry inventory.  The car was relocated in December 2006 and placed on permanent loan to Railroader's Memorial Museum, Altoona.  It may be utilized in the future as part of a consist utilizing PRR K-4s # 1361 during excursions.
