BBC trolleybuses in Edmonton vs. 110 in Dayton:

After Dayton bought BBC trolleybuses 109 and 110 from Edmonton, they were modified. This page compares what 110 looks like currently over what it used to look like in Edmonton. The coaches that stayed to the end of trolleybus service in Edmonton weren’t modified.

The first change was the front doors. This is how BBC 189 looked when built. This photo was taken in 2007. One thing to note is that #189 is now in a trolleybus museum in England.

This shows coach 195 after it was refurbished. Its front doors remained the same. This coach most likely went to Bulgaria after Edmonton axed its trolleybus system.

This shows 110 during the charter. In addition to repainting the bus in Dayton colours, the front doors were modified for the instillation of a wheelchair lift. However, apparently the lift didn’t always work.

These next two photos are the interiors of BBC coaches in Edmonton. The second photo was taken inside bus #195. I don’t remember the unit that I took the first photo in.

These next photos show 110’s interior. Notice the black vinyl over some of the seats. Some seats were also removed for a wheelchair tie-down area.

The rear of the coaches weren’t significantly modified.

            This concluded the comparison.
