2010 RMR Convention Planning - Tracks to Alamosa

  • Alamosa Colorado, June 3-6, 2010.
  • Joint planning with Sunrise and South Suburban firming up plans.
  • Registration ready to publish.
  • Clinics are planned to be held Friday morning and evening. Afternoon shop/yard tour.
  • Saturday train ride on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad, San Luis Express: Alamosa to La Veta and back. Stop in La Veta for lunch and shopping. Saturday night dinner on your own. Saturday evening, model judging and videos.
  • BOD meeting to be Saturday night or Sunday morning.
  • Hobo breakfast Sunday morning at the historic Rio Grande depot on the mainline.
  • Layout tours along the route home Sunday.

    Etching Circuit Boards

    Clinic: Stewart Jones showed how to etch circuit boards, using simple and inexpensive methods, with chemicals and materials readily available.

    Video: Following the clinic, we watched the video "Golden Spike", which followed the making of the Jupiter and Engine 119, the historic Golden Spike remake at the Promontory Point National Historic Park.

    Dessert: The meeting adjourned about 9 PM, at which time most of us "reconvened" at the Village Inn at Mississippi and Abilene for coffee & pie.
