The Diorama shown below was built by club members in the late 1990’s to depict the 1925 era around the Southern Railway passenger station and freight house in Warrenton, Virginia. It is currently on display at the Town Hall.
Warrenton was connected to the Southern Railway’s Washington to Atlanta mainline via a branch from Calverton. Much of the branch still exists, but it terminates about five miles outside of Warrenton at a major stone quarry, the only but active shipper on the line.
The balance of the right-of-way into the city has been redeveloped into the Warrenton Branch Greenway, a walking and biking trail which terminates at the Norfolk and Western caboose display in the downtown section of the city.
