The
mission of the Chessie System Historical Society, as outlined in
Section 1 of the CSHS Bylaws:
A. Promote and encourage study of the history of the Chessie
System Railroads (B&O, C&O and WM) from 1972 to 1986.
B. Publish a quarterly newsletter.
C. Collect, index, restore, preserve, maintain and display
artifacts, photographic and archival material at such locations as may
be feasible to the members and the general public.
D. Restore and preserve any available diesel engine, rolling
stock, caboose or any other equipment that was used by the Chessie
System or its predecessors.
E. Promote research and better understanding of the Chessie
System among members, model railway equipment manufacturers, publishers
and general public.
F. Promote and encourage the exchange of information and
materials
relating to the Chessie System among the members.
G. Engage in other activities related to educating the public
concerning the Chessie System and it predecessors.
